Seeking Peace and Calm During a Pandemic

To say that the Covid-19 pandemic has spurned an uptick in anxiety and unrest is an understatement. To varying degrees, every living person has been affected by either this disease or the efforts to combat it. When combined with the controversial and divisive responses many country’s leaders have set in motion, the average person has a recipe for a breakdown of mental health. Here are some tips to stay centered and weather the storm.

Re-Examine Your Faith and Spirituality

Many busy people who suddenly find themselves with more time on their hands would benefit from taking an inventory of their spirituality. For those who have been raised with religious upbringings, ask “how is my relationship with God?” For those who aren’t, ask if you feel spiritually complete, or you should seek out a religion or dogma to provide an anchoring force in your life.

Stay Connected with Family and Friends

It’s clear that isolation is a very bad idea during the lockdowns, self-quarantines, and shelter-in-place orders associated with Covid-19. The good news is that technological advancements have made the world much smaller. There has never been a better time to connect (or re-connect) with friends and loved ones across the world using various video conferencing platforms.

Prioritize Exercise and Nutrition

Staying physically healthy is essential to maintaining good mental health in these unprecedented times. It is, unfortunately, all too easy to over-indulge in junk food or alcohol, or just stay sedentary as you live and work at home. Set boundaries and write down diet and exercise requirements to stay fit.

Reflect at the End of the Day

Finally, taking a moment at the end of each day to reflect upon or journal the positive events you’ve experienced can send you to bed in a better mindset and set you up for a better tomorrow.

The pandemic is a difficult thing to navigate. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself and use these tips to help!

Signs You Need to Call an Exterminator

Have you noticed bed bugs, mice, wasps, and ants taking over your home? If so, now is the time to call for help. An exterminator can eliminate these unwanted guests.

However, what if the signs aren’t so obvious? Do you have a pest problem and not even know it? Here are some less obvious signs you need to call an exterminator Staten Island.

Droppings

A classic sign of a pest problem is droppings. Check your home to see if there are any urine trails or fecal droppings present. Remember, even though mice and rat droppings are easy to identify, the waste from smaller creatures, such as bedbugs, is harder to see. Inspect your bed, furniture, and carpeting carefully to find these signs of pests.

Signs of Nesting

Rodents use what is available to make their nests. This includes grass clippings, leaves, and even shredded paper. Sometimes, these homes are located in discreet or hidden locations such as between the walls or under the floor. Looking for them will let you know if you have a pest problem hidden from view.

Grease Marks or Tracks

If you see grease tracks or marks on the walls or floor, it is a sign of a rodent infestation. Rats and mice will repeatedly travel the same paths, leaving a greasy trail behind them. Rats often move along the walls and leave a darker grease trail.

Daytime Appearances

One roach or mouse isn't a big deal. Unfortunately, if you see these vermin during the day, it likely means their numbers are more concentrated in or around your home than you think. Most pests wait to move around when it is dark; however, if there is an infestation, they will also move in daylight to find food, water, and shelter.

If you have a pest problem, taking action is necessary. As time passes, the problem will only get worse and be even more challenging to handle. The right exterminator can provide a thorough inspection, determine which pests are present, and make recommendations to eliminate them for good.

How Motorcycle Insurance Can Help You on the Road

The wind in your hair, the sun on your shoulders and the excitement of the possibilities that lie ahead — there's nothing like taking your bike on the open road. While a motorcycle ride is meant to be thrilling, it's important to have insurance in case of an accident. Here are a few reasons to choose one of the many sources of motorcycle insurance Orlando has to offer.

It's Required By Law

Though not federally mandated, motorcycle insurance is a requirement in most states. Taking your bike out without insurance can incur hefty fines and may even cause your license to be revoked until you resolve the issue. Visit your state's Department of Motor Vehicles to learn more about insurance requirements.

It Protects You Financially

Insurance is designed to help cover the costs of damage or medical bills in the event of an accident, and coverage can vary based on how much assistance you need. At the very least, minimum liability coverage is available if the accident is your fault.

It Can Protect Your Passengers

If you're planning on taking other people for a ride, it's a good idea to have insurance coverage for them as well. Just like insurance for yourself, coverage for your passengers can be customized for what they need. Uninsured motorist coverage is also available for you and your passengers if an accident is caused by an uninsured driver.
No matter where the open road takes you, it's good to have a little extra protection on your side. Motorcycle insurance is generally customizable to suit your needs and budget to help keep you and everyone around you safe. If you're ever unsure about your policy coverage, speak with your insurance agent to find out more.
