Living the Rural Life: A Few Tips for City Slickers

Many urban dwellers want a simpler life. They see rural areas as a reprieve from the noise and busy nature of the big city. If you're ready to take on a new lifestyle, explore some of the prime features that go along with a rural environment. There's a whole, new world for you to explore.

Maintenance is Key

A major part of living in a rural environment is maintaining your property. Take care of fencing, barn accessories and the household itself. Ideally, you should inspect the property along its entire perimeter at least once a week. Broken fences translate into potential theft and injured livestock. Take pride in your property because it will be subjected to the weathering elements every day. An urban home doesn't have the same challenges as a rural abode.

Insure Your Livestock

Most rural properties have livestock, such as cattle or horses. There are barns and stables involved with their care. Be aware that covering these items as assets is critically important. Look for horse insurance to protect your investment. If anything happens to your animals, they're covered by the policy. You may never need to use it, but it's comforting to know that there's a buffer between you and a potential emergency.

Start Out Early

Sleeping in on a rural property isn't always suggested. It can get warm during the afternoon on any large property. You'll be outside for most of the day if you're working the land or animals on it. Think about rising early to complete your work before the hottest part of the day arrives. You'll be more productive as a result. There may be extra time in the day for personal pursuits, such as hobbies or charitable work.

If you're not sure about a big leap into the rural lifestyle, spend some time on vacation and explore a local area. Everyone has a different comfort level with their surroundings. You might fall in love with the rural life or decide against it. Trying the experience is the only way to make a real determination.

The Natural ME

I love myself. But it's not what you think. I'm not an egotistical being who is self-centered, egocentric human. I have a considerable huge heart, a heart that is full of understanding, compassion, and patience.

However, I'm not perfect. I have my share of flaws. I may be patient but I have low tolerance to mistakes. I easily get snapped to people who make others life miserable. That is why I'm thankful enough that I became a teacher. Through my profession, I could freely express myself to my students about what I want them to become. I'm just glad they find lessons in every insights I get to share to them. I'm happy seeing them successful on their chosen career. Their success would be mine as well. That is why, I have to love myself-so that I could still share the same insight to their children in the future.

This is me, the natural Me

How Good Is Your Fire Hydrant?

No doubt you would agree that it is important to be able to reliably test the functionality of your fire hydrants. After all, what good is a fire hydrant if it doesn't work properly in case of an emergency?
Google image

There are many systems out there for testing your fire hydrants. How can you make a good choice? Here are a few things to keep in mind.

When selecting a system for testing your fire hydrants, look for some of these key benefits:

* Ease of use. Let's face it: Few of us are experts in testing fire hydrants. So you want a system that doesn't require you to have a Ph.D. in order to use it!

* Completeness. The software that your system for testing fire hydrants comes with needs to be comprehensive enough to test all aspects of the hydrant's reliability. Otherwise, the testing system may overlook important aspects, giving you a false sense of security.

* Reliability. Just as your fire hydrants need to work reliably whenever needed, so your testing system should be reliable. It should work properly the first time and every time thereafter during a reasonable life span for the system.

Advantages of a Good Fire Hydrant Reliability Testing System

When you choose a reliable, comprehensive, and easy-to-use system for testing your fire hydrants, you will likely achieve many benefits. For one thing, you will know with a reasonable degree of certainty that your hydrants are providing an adequate water supply that can be depended on. The right system may also help to achieve a lower ISO score. Best of all, a good hydrant testing system will give you peace of mind, for it will ensure that the hydrants are functional in case of emergency.

Why not look into finding a good system for testing your fire hydrants today?

Welcome Back to the Real World!

School is fun! So does teaching. Well, dealing with another set of students under my advisory was a whole lot, uhm... EXCITING! Gee, quite unsure if I made the right choice of word. Anyway, vacation is over (though, I didn't really have one) or maybe it's more appropriate to say SUMMER BREAK is over!
I'm just glad that first day of school was a total success. I got quite a number of students. They're all doing fine. And for sure, I'll be expecting for more. I pray for a whole year of wonderful bonding with them. I pray as well that on one way or another, I could make an impact to their lives!

Doing The Things You Love

She's staring at you...

Meet Gretchen...

This is Janith

How often would you do the things you love? Well, for most of us, time could be an issue. As for me, I really do love sketching! It all started back in my primary years. I run out of papers most of the time simply because, I just can't stop it. My teacher, who caught me once sketching while giving her lectures, scolded me saying that I could not serve two masters at the same time. Well, honestly, I don't really agree with her because my hands might be busy, but my ears were listening, she just didn't believe me, though. When I was in college, I go lie low in sketching faces, figures coz I was introduced to the Technical Drafting world, which requires greater accuracy through measurement-and honestly, it wasn't really my thing but I just left with no other option but to follow. Right now that I'm already a teacher, and a mother, I can see that my two elder kids loves to draw as well! At least they've started at a very tender age. My son loves to draw solar system and any other figures that would fascinate him. My daughter just simply follow what her brother were able to draw. I can see a future artist in them. Then I realized if only I didn't stop doing it regularly, then I would have an improved skills, much better than my output before. Though, right now, I started to relive it again. I just love doing it. I even watch tutorial videos to help me somehow. Wish I could really make it better this time.
