Rainy Days... Let's Be Productive!

It's been raining for almost a week already. People were being reminded to keep safe. Most domestic flights were cancelled and yet people who were stranded at the airport were still complaining about it. Well, maybe they want to travel in a bad condition not minding of the possible consequences.

Honestly, I am a little bit worried too. Rivers are said to be slowly rising but hopefully everything will be okay. It's good to stay at home during rainy days but since I've got a work to do, I have to motivate myself everyday to wake up early and prepare for work.

So, how to make ourselves productive during rainy season? If you are just staying at home and loves to do some arts and crafts, this is the best time to explore! Ideas run smoothly too when the weather is cold so all poets and those who are planning to become one, be ready with your pen and paper. And for Mom like me, this is the best time to spend cheesy moments with my bundles of joy- watching kiddie movies, teaching them a rhyme songs and so much more!

Cars Rule America for Now

Premier Mazda
Go to almost every European city, and everything you need is within walking distance. There is a corner grocery store that sells fresh foods and sundries. There is a restaurant within five blocks for those days when you don’t want to cook, and that restaurant often includes a bar if you want to be social. You may have to travel to the city for work, but that just means getting to the bus stop and waiting for a maximum of 15 minutes for the next bus. Mazda dealers in Kansas City know that Americans do not have such transportation conveniences. That makes owning a car a necessity until the public transportation infrastructure and perception is changed.

Style over Substance

At some point in the 1930s and 1940s, the United States decided to build highways all over the continent. It was great for connecting the vast countryside and for putting people to work. It was also great for the motor car and trucking industries. America could have chosen to put that money into public transportation like trains and subways, but it didn't. That decision has helped to create the reliance on fossil fuels and has restricted the freedom of movement to only those that can afford to own a car.

Winds of Change

While people are realizing that dependence on fossil fuels is a problem, the only thing that they can do to fix it at this point is to purchase a vehicle like ones that are sold at Mazda dealers in Kansas City that are fuel efficient. The government will need to decide to make public transportation a priority, and that will include getting it to run on time for any real change to happen. Until then, people will need to demand vehicles that are cheaper to operate, reliable, and that use the least amount of gas possible. Generally, this will mean smaller vehicles until a company comes out with an electric truck that is available to the public. The cultural shift toward public transportation is already happening as teens take longer to get their licenses. It is up to the government and the transportation industry to catch up.

Have A New Look for New Year

Since it is New Year already, it would be a whole lot better if we make it a habit to change everything that we have at home as much as possible. From linen to curtains to table cloth to door mats. Everything that are replaceable must be replaced.

Poly CheckI do not believe in feng shui but I do believe in orderliness and cleanliness. Some of us might believe that wearing polka dots or adorning your home with something dots or circle design will bring good luck but for me, regardless what design you have as long as it is clean and presentable, then why not use it? We can have a floral curtains for our living room, a plain shower curtain in the bathroom or a poly check table linens in the kitchen. Designs really does not matter as long as it complement your taste and fit your budget, everything will be okay.

Back to School

It's back to school time yet I was stranded at home. My son got sick and I have to attend to him. Hubby cannot attend to both of them all day long because my little girl is not feeling well too. She got a persistent cough but good thing she throws the phlegm out by throwing up. I might be absent but i cannot just simply ignore my baby's condition. When my little boy isn't feeling well, he wants to be cuddled always. And that's exactly what we did yesterday, a mother and son cuddling moments!

Family Dedication 2014

As a wife, I did a lot of lapses in 2013. As a Mom, I may have a satisfactory rating but still, I can feel that what I did in 2013 isn't worth commendable. Hubby and I disagree much on a lot of things. That was the year that I almost didn't recognize myself. I am not really sure if that was still part of our adjustment period. We are now on our third year and yet it seems like we barely know each other. Anyhow, I am still thankful that our fight really didn't last for long. I am the tiger and he is the silent prey/predator LOL. Oh well, honestly, I am looking forward to a harmonious life together and hopefully I could make it.

Annually,we do have a Family Dedication in our church where all families are rededicated back to God. You will really feel being renewed and it's a good year to start. In January 2011, it was just Hubby and me. In 2012, we have our first born already and this year, we have our second baby. I do believe that as the members of my family increases, so does God's blessings. Amen

Spending Family Quality Time

They said family time is a quality time. I may not have that much in life for now, I may have a limited resources so far but I don't want to deprive my family from having a family time outside our home. Indeed, it is quite difficult to budget my income considering the growing needs of my babies yet I do not see it as a hindrance. As a Mom of two, I learn how to make both ends meet. It's a God-given wisdom I guess. If I will do the trial and balance of my expenses against my income, it's over drop, I mean, negative. But hey, life should be enjoyed. Once, twice at least I get to treat my family with a sumptuous meal somewhere else. So, along with our two babies, Hubby and I have Mang Inasal for lunch today. After buying my baby's needs, we chill for awhile with 1L ice cream at Gaisano Mall's Cool Zone. It was simple, yet it means a lot. For us couple, we really need such a time like this. As for me, bonding with my family is a worthwhile experience. I envy those family who get to have a family vacation during summer or holidays. I do not have that kind of luxury yet but I know someday we will and I will do it not because of envy, but because it is just the best thing to do.
:)
