I Am A Teacher- The Impatient Who Taught Patience

It's our day, teacher's day. Greetings from your previous and current students are there. Flowers, chocolates and other special tokens were given.

But what does it take to become a teacher? On top of earning a degree and passing the licensure exam, becoming a teacher needs a lot of things:

PATIENCE
PATIENCE
PATIENCE

Why patience? You see? you'll be dealing number of students with different upbringing. Not all of them learned the moral truths in life. Others went to school not merely to learn, but to escape the hostility that they endured back home.

With my eight years of experience, it's not only once or twice that my patience has been tested. I've been faced with such kind of challenges almost every day. There are students who will be kind to you in such a way that they will be attentive and obedient to all your instructions and do their job well. However, it cannot be denied that there are students who are kinda hard on you. They might have hear everything you say but they are not really listening. These are the kind of students who will really test your limit.

Nevertheless, I am still thankful that I met both kinds. I admit, I am not good in dealing with impatient students because I am impatient myself. I cannot tolerate hardheadedness because I am hardheaded too. My long teaching experience lengthen my patience but sometimes I felt like I should ignore those students who really tried my limit. I should consider teaching as a challenge, not only for myself but for my students as well.

I am a teacher, impatient yet taught my students how to be patient.

No Work on October 15

Philippine advisory: In case you are unaware, October 15 is declared a holiday per Proclamation No. 658.

What is this Holiday all about?

October 15 is the Islamic  Eidul Adha or Feast of Sacrifice. The said date is based on declaration made by Saudi Arabia's highest religious body and upon the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos. Eidul Adha Festival commemorates the sacrifice of Abraham of his son Ishmael out of his obedience to God.

For Non-Muslim, mark your calendar so you will be reminded not to wake up early for school or work. ;)

Get An Affordable Gadget at Lazada

My blogging career really helps me a lot both socially and financially. Socially, because I was able to meet many blogger friends AND financially because I get to earn an extra income for our needs. I was thankful to my sister who gave me a laptop so that I could continue my online career at home. The laptop works fine but it is too heavy for me to carry so I rather use it only when I am home. Internet connection in school is quite slow so all my online tasks and updates should be done at home only.

My class schedules has so many vacant hours in between and sometimes if I won't be checking my student's works, I just spend my idle time playing computer games or watching TV and taking a nap and I always thought that all those wasted time should be spent online. If I could only make use of my vacant times at school doing it, I won't be spending too much time in front of my laptop anymore. There will be no more late night sleep. As a Mom of two, I need to prioritize taking care the needs of my babies before doing anything else. Ideally, I work on the computer when my babies are already asleep.

I've been eyeing for a net book that is convenient enough to carry but considering the price, I guess I would better settle for tablet instead. It is among my wish list for Christmas but really I am hoping that I could have it before Christmas. Tablet could have many uses for me. Besides, tablets are very affordable right now. I saw it on Lazada website. I could have it for as low as P 3,000.00 or roughly 70USD.

You see, I was very positive that I could own this gadget. I love COBY KYROS Tab because of its affordability. When I invest something, I do not really spend too much, am not a big spender because I know my limit. Well, I just want to thank Lazada. I've tried online shopping before but the company was from Singapore and it took more than a month before the package arrive. It's too late for me to realize that we have a Pinoy Online Shopping site that is not only affordable but offers free shipping too! Not only that, you can also pay upon delivery and if you got some issues, Lazada is open for free returns within 14 days. Wow! That's what I am looking for in online shopping, customers are guaranteed to be safe with their purchases. Also, I've got a lot of options to choose from because they almost got everything that I need or want. Lazada is so amazing for giving such a big discounts on most of their products as well. I even love their fashionable items on sale.

My FB status expressing my interest LOL!

Wish I could have lot of funds on my PayPal soon so I could do an early Christmas shopping for my love ones. They also offer P200 voucher discount for just simply subscribing to their newsletter. See, as soon as I get the funds, I already have a P200 discounts to avail! That's more than good news! I know you are interested too while still reading this. So what are you waiting for? Visit their site, subscribe to their newsletter, get an account and enjoy shopping!

US Government Shutdown?

When I first heard the news about US government shutdown, I was surprised or shall I say confused: How could that be? The land of milk and honey will face another challenges and I was much concern because my sister lives there with her hubby. I just hope this will not have a greater impact around the globe. The infographics below shows three agencies that have been closed since 1st of October this year: Medical Research, Museum and Parks and the Environmental Protection Agency. I haven't read anything so far if this closure will just be temporary or for good. Though other departments and agencies are open but they will likely to furlough some staff.

Like what I said, I was really confused about the issue. Anyway, let me share a part of the article from Yahoo! news regarding this issue:

The US leader is scheduled to leave for Asia on Saturday, but the trip now depends on how the first US government shutdown in 17 years plays out.

So far, the signs are not encouraging, as Republicans and Democrats in Washington appeared no closer to reaching agreement on a spending bill to keep the government running.
For a second day, federal workers will stay off the job without pay and tourists will be turned away from Washington's museums and monuments, amid national exasperation that the nation's elected officials were unable to avoid the impasse.
Obama on Tuesday accused conservatives in the House of Representatives of waging an "ideological crusade" by making government funding conditional on gutting his landmark health care law.
His top foe, Republican House Speaker John Boehner, said Obama was pursuing a "scorched earth" policy by refusing to negotiate, as the rhetoric hit new heights and hopes faded for a swift end to the standoff... click HERE for more
Oh, ObamaCare, is this the reason behind this crisis? Filipinos who stayed in US was solicited for reaction by the newsgroup and some were happy about this health care law that was authored by President Obama himself, which was also the reason for disagreement between Dominican and Republican officials.

Well, I am confident that President Obama can take care of this. Wherever this issue may lead, it is my prayer that all Filipino workers and immigrants in the US will always be safe from the effect of this issue.

God bless America!

Maximizing His Potentials

My husband at work
Local election is fast approaching and many aspiring candidates are already preparing their jingle, which, I guess, only happens in the Philippines. I remember how my husband earned money out of it together with selected members of the choir group in our congregation. A certain politician, who is also a common friend of our minister, approached them once asking them to make an election jingle for him. He preferred to choose them because he wants to come up with a wholesome election jingle that will leave a lasting impression among his constituents. In short span of time (as requested), the jingle was completed with only two vocals, and a multiplex. But the output was like the jingle was done with a complete set of accompaniments like drums on the background. My husband did the tricks with his little knowledge in audio and music editing.

My husband’s passion for music doesn't limit him to just playing the guitar, beating the drum or any other musical instruments. I was amazed on how he can edit background music with audio or musical effects. He can add effects like it was really real or done actually. I know most of the guys knew about it yet, my man doesn't really have a formal training on this area. He is only a sound technician in our church. But his curiosity brought him to learn beyond the ordinary. He loves exploring the net to find tips on how to improve such skills. Right now, he is also curious about bfd2 and hopes to have one so he could really maximize his potentials.

Trending News That Are Worth Knowing

I already posted this on my other blog and I love to feature it here as well. I just can't get enough of Megan Lynne Young, my ultimate bet for Miss World 2013. She was my bet not only because she has a Filipino blood and she was representing the Philippines, she was my bet because she is beautiful inside and out.

I wasn't able to watch the Coronation because we don't have a cable TV, I just learned the news from Facebook updates. But before this day comes, I already followed her updates through Yahoo news and I learned that joining a beauty pageant was one of her ultimate dreams and indeed she doesn't fulfilled it, she really succeeded on winning it as well! Aside from winning the crown, she also won the Top Model competition during the Pre-Pageant.

Megan Lynne Young, the 1st Filipina to win Miss World title

I already admired her since she joined the Star Struck couple of years ago in GMA channel, her beauty was exceptional. I am also very proud how proud she is for being a half-Filipino. This Fil-Am girl is not only beautiful, she's very humble too. And because I was so busy waiting for the Miss World updates, i forgot to watch The Voice showdown. Well, so far, these are the two major events happening in the Philippines that has been trending in most social media accounts.
