Just this morning, our Daily Devotional topic was focused on 1John 2: 15-17:
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
LUST...
Lust of the eyes... that's how sin was conceived. Then the lust of the flesh follows fully supported with the pride of life.
Normally, whenever we saw things that are appealing to us it caused us to do something in order to acquire it. Just as Eve was tempted with the fruit of the trees upon seeing it (with the Devil's deceitful scheme) so are we with the things on this world. By the time she ate it, it's her flesh that entice her to commit such act thinking that what the serpent have told her are true- which is knowing all things just like God (that's pride of life!)
We should be careful enough in discerning the things that is of this world... We might enjoy all the things that we have right now but we should not forget that this will all come to pass, nothing is permanent in this world therefore we should not be too attached on everything that the world can offer... Let's fix our eyes to what is eternal. Do not try to bite the fruit of deception that was offered by Satan...
