Are You Threatened By The Rain?

Many are quite afraid to play with the rain... It is because of fear that the rain could be toxic as a result of the exploded nuclear plants in Fukushima Japan.

I received that threatening text message yesterday which goes like this:

BBC FLASHNEWS: Japan government confirms radiation leak at Fukushima nuclear plants. Asia countries should take necessary precautions. Remain indoors first 24hrs. Close doors & windows. Swab neck skin with betadine where thyroid area is, radiation hits thyroid first. Take extra precautions. Radiation may hit Phil at starting 4pm today. Pls send to your loved ones.

Threatening indeed. But I was not really alarmed. Before I received that text I was at the Administration building and when I came out from the building the rain poured and I have no umbrella so I just run to a nearby covered walk leading back to our office, then I read the message.

I made a further research to verify and I read about this:

Although there has been two explosions in the Fukushima nuclear plant and a possible meltdown might occur, there has been no radiation leak yet that can reach other countries. In fact, only those inside the 12 mile radius from the plant are susceptible to current partial radiation leakage.

And for us Filipinos, be NOT afraid as the  Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) issued a statement saying that radiation levels in the Philippine environment are all normal.

The DOST-PNRI routinely undertakes daily radioactivity monitoring in the environment. Based on DOST-PNRI monitoring, there has been no increase in the levels of radioactivity since the time of the Fukushima event.
A plume trajectory study from the Fukushima site by the World Meteorological Organization based in Melbourne, Australia showed that the plume from the site of the incident will not pass the Philippine territory as of March 14, 2011.

I am pretty sure that this things will erase all those fears.

Clad Your Building With Metal Cladding

Since I get involved in the Procurement Office, I became acquainted with all construction materials for our Infrastructure Projects. Materials like aluminum and metal cladding is quite expensive but the finished product is good to look at  especially on the facade of the buildings since it comes in varied colors.
So if you have already decided to make your own design of your building, consider cladding as part of the materials to be used.

Meet Me On Monday # 2:

Hello there! I'm back for Meet Me On Monday hosted by Java on Never Growing Old.

These are the questions of the week:

1.  Do you have a fireplace in your home?
2.  Can you drive a stick shift?
3.  How many computers are in your home?
4.  Are your taxes done yet?  Do you do them yourself?
5.  What is your favorite meal of the day?

Let's begin!

1.  Do you have a fireplace in your home?

- Unfortunately none. But I know someday, if God permits, I will be having my dream house with such a lovely fire place as above to be shared with my family.

2.  Can you drive a stick shift?

- Unfortunately, NO. I don't know how to drive at all even a bicycle :(

3. How many computers are in your home?

my PC behind me
Just ONE. A very old model, desktop type- purchased six years ago but still serviceable though quite a problem already. I am praying to own a new one, but this time, a portable one (laptop! would you care to donate? lol!)

4.  Are your taxes done yet?  Do you do them yourself?

-Updated! This is one thing that the government agency won't never ever forget. Every payroll, we are always deducted with this therefore the Bureau of Internal Revenue won't run after me for tax evasion lol!

5.  What is your favorite meal of the day?
Well, it really depends on what is on the table lol!

So, that's my entry for this week...

Awake!

“The earthquake has caused major damage in broad areas in northern Japan,” Prime Minister Naoto Kan said at a news conference. (PhilStar)

What's next then? Japan, one of the Asia's progressive countries was not spared to the nature's wrath! I saluted how Japan gave emphasis to doing and making things based on what is standard. However, some of their affected architectural designs that were earthquake proof were now torn down into rubbles. So sad.
A rampaging wall of water several meters high slams a coastal
community following a powerful earthquake in Natori, Miyagi
prefecture in Japan yesterday. Right photo shows giant fireballs
rising  from a burning oil refinery in Ichihara, Chiba prefecture.AP

Unlike the 9/11 Terrorist Attack in the land of milk and honey, this land of striking scenic beauty was shaken not with human factor but with nature.

This is a wake up call for all of us.

In the Science point of view, the Mother Earth is slowly deteriorating and very much vulnerable to natural destruction.

But all of these occurrences were already predicted even before these were preconceived by any human minds in our generation.

This was already revealed in the Holy Bible, the very Word of our Almighty God, the Creator.

Matthew 24
(The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times)

1 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” 3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

I have read this passage many times before and many times also it shivers me even by just merely thinking about it...

Indeed, the sign of the end of the age slowly revealed:
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
Wars, famines, earthquakes? They are all happening now. And these are JUST THE BEGINNING. The crisis in the Middle East, the tsunami threat on Japan's neighboring countries and the shortage of food supplies that the world experiences right now have just started. Let us all be aware.

If we do not read His Word, we will have no idea about the truth. We could just simply blame it to the global climate change. Somehow, they are inter-related. As for me, the Science has just uncover what was written in the Bible thousands of years ago.

But all these things shall come to pass as we expectantly be waiting for the coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

As His Word says:

Romans 13:11
(The Day Is Near)
11 And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

Let us keep ourselves alive, alert and awake with His Words.
