Aren't Elders Supposedly Be Our Role Model?

I was totally pissed off this morning while reading an FB post from one of my students before. She's a minor age and was still in Secondary School She narrated that there was this old man who just simply chat with her. At first their conversation was doing good until the old man offered her a phone (she didn't mention the brand) followed with an indecent proposal.

For heaven's sake, what happened to some of our old men right now? How could they even think of doing such thing just to satisfy their lustful desires? This is such a threat to our younger generations-especially young women. So sad because there are some young women who will just simply cling to the ideas and accept the proposal without even considering the possible outcome and before they knew it, there were already trapped to the evil scheme of this kind of men.

To all parents, never allow this thing to happen to your daughter or any of your children. As parents, it is our primary goal to protect our children from the immorality of this world. This is such an alarming issue. Bribery is one of the schemes that these men are using. They offered expensive gadgets or even large amount of money just to trap their victim. Too bad for those who easily get caught. Too bad for those who lack parental guidance, and too bad for those who thought that money and pleasure is everything in this world.

I could only hope that our government could do something to protect our children because they are too vulnerable to this kind of situation. May the law protecting them will totally be enforced and life sentence should be accorded to those who will violate it.

Three Wellness Techniques That Promote Holistic Health

These days, the health movement appears to be growing as more and more people become aware that wellness is the key to optimizing productivity and facilitating mood stability. If you've recently decided to get on the wellness train, it's time to adopt a systematic approach that will help you enhance results and stay on track to looking and feeling your best. Here are three strategies you can deploy to make it happen:

1. Develop A Comprehensive Exercise Routine.

One of the best ways to facilitate and optimize holistic health is through the implementation of a comprehensive exercise routine. Exercising consistently and effectively helps optimize the functioning of your mind and body, so physical activity is not a maybe. It is a must. To get the most out of the physical activities you engage in, it's important to ensure that your exercise routine incorporates all three of the following components: 1. weight-lifting 2. cardiovascular activity and 3. stretching. To ensure that you actually adhere to your program, it's a good idea to attain an accountability partner. This could be anyone from a personal trainer to a walking buddy.

2. Enhance Your Diet.

Outside of exercise, diet optimization is one of the most powerful strategies you can deploy to enhance your health. There are several ways that you can get this process started, such as by removing processed foods from your refrigerator and cupboard. You should also be sure to place healthy foods like fresh fruits and vegetables in a conspicuous place. This increases the likelihood that you will actually eat them because, as research studies have indicated, we consume the foods that are most accessible to us.

3. Meditate.

If you're serious about leading a healthy lifestyle, get serious about meditation. This practice can do wonders for your mental health while also generating several positive benefits throughout your body. Some of the major health benefits of meditation include:

-enhanced self-confidence
-improved memory
-better sleep
-enhanced respiratory function

It's also important to note that meditation can play an integral role in limiting your experience of pain. However, if you are experiencing pain in your body but don't know where it's coming from, it's important to know that you may have an undiagnosed disease. Companies like Diagnostic Automation/Cortez Diagnostics, Inc can help you diagnosis the condition by providing you with a wide range of testing kits for diseases like cancer, HIV, and diabetes. The company also offers elisa kits.

Conclusion

If you want your life to be as productive and powerful as possible, it's important to focus on health optimization. The tips listed above can help you take your level of wellness from average to awesome, so be sure to implement these strategies synergistically and systematically. In so doing, you'll likely find yourself leading a more fulfilling life!

My Kind of Leadership

It is the responsibility of the parents to bring and implement discipline at home. But this is only achievable if there is great command of leadership among the heads of the family, usually the father.

Rearing a child is not that easy. Like a joke that I’ve heard once, teaching a child is like a walk in the park- only that it is in the Jurassic Park. But kidding aside, one of the reasons why there are some children who are a problem in the society is that they never find real leadership at home.

I grew up in a broken family and a very strict mother. I can say that my Mom has that greater command of leadership because she made us all obey to almost everything that she told us to do out of fear. It is only when I became a mother myself that I fully understood her way of “leadership”. She just wanted us to be more disciplined especially in our studies. It was her ultimate dream that we will earn a degree.

Right now, as a mother of two (and soon, three) it is also my ultimate dream to see my children realized their dreams with flying colors. As a submissive wife to my husband, it is also my dream to have a lifetime relationship with him. My husband is the youngest on his family. But then he has exceptional skills in dealing with his other six (6) siblings because every time his family needs to make a greater decision, his siblings relied on him. That is why he is also our leader at home especially in the area of decision making.

Whenever my little boy insists on something, or my little girl is having her tantrums, it is my role to pacify them otherwise, they will be facing the wall at their father’s command. There are also cases that I am their disciplinarian and their father is the rescuer. I can say that we are doing perfectly fine in injecting discipline to our children. It just need cooperation between me and my husband. I am also teaching my children to pay greater respect and obedience to their father being the head of the family. They may not yet understand it fully, but the way they respond to our style in disciplining them is somehow promising enough that these kids will grow up being aware of what is good from bad and the other way around.

As parents for four years, we know that we still have a lot of things to learn in rearing our children. It is not that easy but we are determined enough to guide them to choose the right path always. It would be a great achievement for us someday seeing them living their dreams. And it can only be realized if right from their formative years, they were already taught of the right discipline, quite strict but with care.

Same Home, New Year: Safeguarding Your House

from Google images
As a homeowner, you probably make upgrades to your house constantly. Whether you’re replacing a dead light fixture, upgrading flooring or just changing batteries in a smoke detector, you know that a house can feel like a money pit from time to time. One place you can’t afford to skimp though is home safety.

While many of the issues in a home might seem small today, the fact is that they add up over time. If you don’t deal with them now, you might just find that you’ve got thousands of dollars in repair bills you can’t really afford down the road.

Keep reading to learn more about how you can protect your home, your family and your valuable possessions without emptying your bank account. It might seem impossible from time to time, but it really is something every homeowner can do.

Upgrade Your Alarm

Alarm systems work to keep your family protected from intruders, but newer systems do more than just that. Newer systems can also tell you about fire, smoke and other problems like radon gas through updated detectors.

While many of the older alarm systems out cost a ton of money, many today are portable and relatively cost-effective. You can even take them with you if and when you move, so they’re an ideal investment for many people.

Focus on Flooring

Uneven flooring or flooring that’s warped or wobbles when you walk on it can be very dangerous, especially if you have children or pets in your home. After all, small kids are prone to falls and pets have a tendency to get in the way at exactly the wrong time.

Fix uneven or damaged flooring as soon as possible. This isn’t something you want to live with – even for a short period of time.

Update Your Windows

Like an alarm system, your windows have likely been in place for quite a while. If that’s true it could be time for an upgrade if you want them to look their best and keep you safe.

Upgrade your windows to heavier, thicker ones that will save you money through reduced emissions. Double-pane and lo-E windows are your best bet. You’ll also want to upgrade any locking mechanisms you have on your windows to help keep people out of your home.

Windows are still a viable entry point for thieves.

February be like...

Whew, time flew so fast, we are now on the second month! I am also slowly recovering from my pregnancy discomforts and it seems like I am now eating a lot! Well, I should not deprive myself from eating all the foods I want because I was in severe diet two months ago. There are also lots of reflection being done for myself regarding my work and my personal decisions in life... a sign of being mature and really acting like one.

Challenges are there, yes, but God gave me the wisdom to think and rethink. Good thing He never leaves me in spite and despite of being so unfaithful...

One more thing, I am looking for a more challenging and a roller coaster ride to life's adventure in the months ahead. But I am confident that along that rides, God is there to guide me always.

That's the spirit!

Low Tolerance for Stress

Being pregnant while trying to comply all the requirements for my Masteral studies is not an easy tasks. I have to recondition my mind everyday that everything will be okay especially now that I am still going through hyperemesis gravidarum (excessive vomitting). Have I known that I was pregnant during enrollment period, I will never take the risk. But here I am, I have to pursue my studies, otherwise, all my effort will just be in vain.

I have four consecutive subjects (all for three hours per meeting) that is why Saturday for me is a dreadful day.  All these subjects require much reading and reporting. Honestly, only God's wisdom can save me out from this "dilemma". This is what I want actually. I want to finish my Master's degree however, since I got pregnant, my tolerance for stress is getting low. No matter how I tried hard to be okay but as the day ends, so does my energy. My last subject was often compromised, that's 5-8PM because that is the time that I lost all my energy and could hardly concentrate.

Well, maybe things will change when I will be on my second trimester (hopefully). I could only pray that God will give me that kind of strength that would survive me throughout the semester. Amen to that!

A Guitar by Epiphone

Christmas is over yet due to limited resources, I wasn't able to give special present for my hubby. It's been awhile that he is eyeing for a new acoustic guitar and I was thinking that those guitars by Epiphone would surely suit his taste. His old acoustic guitar is already 7 years old- though still in good strumming condition. My hubby is very meticulous when it comes to taking care of his musical instruments. Those guitars I've browsed on the website of Epiphone is a thing to keep and die for. I know it is durable. Now, I should have it on my wishlist since his birthday is still in June. Hopefully.

Hasta La Vista, Sir!

People come and go in our lives. That's a fact. Right now our school is quite busy for the Despedida and Bienvenida Program for both Out-going and In-coming School Heads. I know this is going to be tough considering the adjustments that we have to make for our new School Head. I could only hope that she's as accommodating and approachable as our previous School Head.

To you, Sir Alfredo C. Tongco, Jr.- Hasta la vista!

To Ma'am Charlyn S. Baylon- Welcome to our school!

Help Employees By Blocking Out the Sun

James Hunt Library
Raleigh, NC
When you head outside on a bright and sunny day, you don't hesitate to grab a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun. You may know that those bright rays can irritate your eyes, make it hard to see and even cause some pain in the form of a headache. Employers should think about the sun and the effects of that sun on their employees too. The sun coming in through the windows can make it nearly impossible for workers to see their computers and complete all the tasks they need to do. There are now several types of products designed to reduce the impact of the sun on those working in commercial buildings.

Louvers

One of the more common products designed for use on commercial structures is a louver. Louvers resemble the same blinds that you might use in your home but on a larger scale. Each one consists of several vertical pieces that sit along a central piece. You can adjust the louvers to let in more or less light based on your needs. Louvers are especially common on libraries that want to create a peaceful place for people to read without the sun getting in their eyes.

Sunshades

If you have a car, you know how quickly the temperature can rise inside that vehicle on a hot day. Manufacturers now make sunshades that cover your windshield and block out the sun to better regulate the temperature. Companies make similar products for use on commercial buildings. These shades may consist of large pieces of fabric that completely cover the windows, but you'll find shades made from other materials too. The newest designs are clear enough that you can still see clearly as you block out the sun. Learn more about sunshades like the one used on the Port Canaveral Welcome Center in Florida.

Vision Screens

What happens when you have larger windows across the front or sides of your building? While those windows provide workers with great views, those windows can also increase the temperature inside and make it hard for employees to focus on their work. Vision screens are an alternative to other products that usually consist of large fabric screens that attach directly to the windows. You can raise or lower those screens every day. These products help reduce the harmful rays of the sun and increase the efficiency of your employees.

That Thing Called #SELF-CONFIDENCE

When I was still, I always have that fear within me. I am so afraid of many things. I am afraid to face people, I am afraid to enter to the faculty room of my professors during college days, I am afraid to face the entire class when making a report, I even on the brink of dropping my Internship Subject or Student Teaching because I m not so sure if I could make it.

When time goes by, as I already held a teaching position in my dear Alma mater, I somehow manage to overcome my fear. I was able to face my students without shaking my knees (unlike the first day of duty as a teacher). In fact, I already manage my insecurities when I had my last minute teaching-demo. My profession taught me to be strong and, well, confident so to speak. However, when I was already in public secondary school I realized I haven't fully overcome my fear yet! I have fear in facing those in higher authorities. I have fear in being observed while having my class. Another fear was when I was given the task to take the lead in one of our school activities. I'd rather be asked to make certificates, tarpaulins and any other task than taking those bigger leading roles.

Then I realized again, I think I need more dose of Self-confidence.

Perfect Gift Ideas for Christmas

In few weeks time, it's going to be Christmas, my favorite season of the year. I just love the feeling of playing the role of Santa Claus for my family. It's already been my tradition to give gifts even if I have no gifts in return.

For this year, I want to be different. Last year, I gave ready-to-wear apparels. This year, since most of my nieces and nephew are on the Secondary School, I will be giving them school items. I already have gift ideas from the internet and one of the items that I love to have and to give is The Cutey Pen at PenFactory.com take note, it's not just like your ordinary pen. One of my favorite among their pen products is the CandleWood (with image below). It's a metallic pen with ribbed gripper and it comes in various colors. Aside from the fact that it is colorful, it is also very affordable at 0.35 USD each. For US residents, there will be free shipping for order above 100USD. This can be a good business ideas too specially for those who are into school supplies retailing.

So, I have now perfect gift ideas, all I have to do is to save money for the said purpose.

Merry Christmas!

That Paranormal Thing...

Comes Halloween, all you can see on TV shows are horror-themed and frightening movies. But what was really the essence of this All-Souls and All-Saints celebration? Is it really necessary to unearth the memories of those who are already dead through this paranormal activities?

I respect those who believe in this "scary activities" or how may you call it. But as for me, and I will stand firm on this: After we die, we will all face judgment. There's no way we can return on this earth as scary-looking creature.

just saying.

Preparing Videos to be Shared with the Movavi Video Converter

Sharing videos has become commonplace nowadays, whether it is the short clips that you see on Instagram, to the longer ones on Facebook and YouTube. The rise of multiple different online video sharing platforms has made it ever so convenient for people to share their videos with their friends and family – or even with the rest of the world.

Of course, despite how many options there are the one problem you may still encounter is preparing your videos to be shared. Most video sharing platforms tend to accept multiple formats and video settings – but at the same time they recommend certain set ups to ensure that the videos are displayed ‘optimally’. In short if you want to be certain that your display is going to appear the way that you want it to – you need to prepare it in advance.

To do this, you should use the Movavi Video Converter. It is capable of converting video formats as well as adjusting their settings – including the resolution, aspect ratio, bitrate, and much more. Essentially it will let you convert your video into the optimal format and settings for video sharing websites – which is exactly what you need.

The best part about the Movavi Video Converter however is the fact that it is incredibly easy to use. If terms like ‘bitrate’, ‘resolution’ and ‘aspect ratio’ all sound a bit alien to you – don’t worry. All you need to do is select the video sharing platform that you want to use from the hundreds of presets that are available, and the settings will be taken care of automatically.

If you’d like to see an example of the few simple steps to convert videos from MP4 to WMV, just head over to: http://www.movavi.com/support/how-to/how-to-convert-mp4-to-wmv.html

Alongside helping you convert and optimize your video, you can also use the software to edit it and enhance the video quality, cut and combine video segments to get rid of unwanted footage, crop or rotate the video, and even add customizable text as captions, titles, subtitles or watermarks.

By putting to use the features in the Movavi Video Converter, you will be able to prepare your videos so that when you do share them you can rest easy knowing that they will look perfect. Give it a try and see for yourself how intuitive and natural it feels to use it. Odds are it won’t take you more than a few minutes to familiarize yourself with its interface and start using it as if you were an old hand.

Where Am I Heading To?

I've been noticing for quite sometime now that I have some spiritual hang-ups. I even forgot the last time that I actually scan my Bible (not the android app). Though, am not saying that I am backsliding, I just have this so called "spiritual gaps". I haven't lost my real identity, I am just in complete hiatus in doing those tings that I ought to do in order to strengthen my spiritual life. No wonder I easily lost my temper, I have low patience and low tolerance in things that could possibly upset me. Good thing is that, I am still completely aware that what I have been doing and feeling lately is not right anymore.

Nevertheless, I am still thankful that God has always His way of reminding me to go back to the highway of righteousness.

My Passion for Teaching

If there's one thing that I want to thank God with as of this very moment, it is Him giving me all the opportunities to become a teacher. I am hesitant at first to live this profession simply because I do not have that so called "self-confidence" but good thing I am surrounded with people who encourages me to pursue my teaching career.

Without knowing it, I am already in the world of academe for more than a decade! Those years of experiences molded me to become what I am right now-more mature and a little bit more confident.

I learned a lot of lessons as a teacher. I learn the value of perseverance, patience and a little more patience. My students have different stories of their lives to tell. There are those who seems to be deprived with the best in life and there are those who are in abundance. I just love the feeling of having an extended family in school. I love the feeling of being look up to by my students. I love the feeling of being trusted and loved by them. Though sometimes, I have the tendency to carry on their "emotional baggage" at home, I have the tendency as well to broke down in front of my students, but that was me, and they love and accept me for what I am. I am just being honest with my feelings because they taught me so. I also made it a point not to judge them. I do believe that every student has a potential that is just waiting to be discovered. I tried to push them to their limit until they have shown to me the things that they are capable of doing. Indeed, being a teacher is not just a walk in the park, as others were saying; it is a lifelong journey and discovery about life. Teaching is a vocation and not just another profession.

As the old adage goes, teaching is the noblest profession.

I am proud to be one!

From Philippines with Love...

it just sink in...

My mother was with my sister now and I am so happy for her because I know that she deserves a comfortable life with my sister. Her life right now is too far different from her life here in the Philippines.

Am not sure when she will set foot here in the Philippines again.

It just sink in that I do miss her... Her embrace... her motherly love.

Hope she will have the best days of her life there...

Long Live Philippines!

While browsing some images on Google site, I stumbled upon this one particular picture that awakens my patriotism to my beloved country, Philippines.

The mere sight of it makes me wanna go on time travel where contentment, unity, and simple but happy lifestyle is in the heart of every Filipino. And since I really love this pic, courtesy of Google images of course, I made this as background on the certificate I've made for the Cultural night in our local barangay.
