A Testimony to a Real J.O.Y. Experience

December 21 was the last day of work for us, public teachers, for 2017, it is also the last day of our Gender and Equality (GAD) Seminar. But I already asked permission to our dear Principal to be absent on that day because I have already decided to attend the J.O.Y. Retreat sponsored and organized by our church, Blessed Hope Community Church International. The said retreat was held at Saddle Ridge Camp in Dahilayan Bukidnon.

A week before, I was quite hesitant to join because of so many concerns, both personal and work, not to mention the financial areas since there is a registration payment of Php 1,000.00 per head and, I guess, half the amount for children. Then my youngest daughter was not feeling well. She was suffering from cough and cold that time. Indeed, there are so many obstacles that prompted me not to join anymore to avoid the stress. However, during Sunday that time, our LifeGroup Coach, Ate Grace Fancubit, encouraged us to join and she reassured me that our registration fee will be shouldered by my hubby's allowance. Wow, an answered prayer BUT then I was a bit worried about my baby since the weather of the venue was really noted for being cold especially during night time. It was also on the news that a typhoon was about to hit on the 22nd (Friday). Nevertheless, my whole family went along with other participants. We leave CDO before lunchtime.

Judging from previous similar engagements that I've been through before, I thought this whole retreat would be just "the same". So, before the first session had started, I and my husband agreed that he would be the one to attend to my three kids while I will be in the session hall. This was his second time actually so he already knew the whole thing. Indeed, the weather was very cold but it never stopped us. it also rained during the night. Before the proper session began, we were asked by the facilitator during the opening program that we should "empty" ourselves and should allow God to fill us with His presence. We should be focused from the start till the end. I really didn't get the message at first but as soon as the first session began, I was really completely overwhelmed with all my experiences until the last session. There was an outpouring of emotions, of realizations and of repentance. There are a lot of things that are so "new" to me. For ten years in the church, this was the first time that I fully understood myself and my God's plan for me. All my why's and how's in life were being answered. I can feel God's presence and I can read His message that He is trying to let me understand. All my doubts about my Christian life was somehow being enlightened. Indeed, I will never forget that complete experience I have- it is a "real encounter" with Him.

I realized we can only understand ourselves if we were able to uncover our roots- the root of all our pains, bitterness, and all those negative traits that we possess. If we have all that being acknowledged, then it is easier for us to find the true value of God's sacrifices for all of us: when He died on the cross. All the things that Jesus did for us should not just go in vain. Its meaning was deeper than I could imagine. For 36 years, it is only this time that I fully understood the greatness of God's love for us. Never will I use my human frailties as an excuse for committing a sin. NEVER AGAIN

J.O.Y. (Jesus, Others, and You). Indeed, it was a JOYful experience. It was the first time also that I can feel God's Holy Spirit within me. That light feeling, that overflowing happiness, the outpouring of emotion as an expression of being grateful for everything that He has done for us. All those experiences were so worth the time and my decision to join the retreat. Indeed, no matter what situations or predicaments we are in, when it is God's will, it will really happen. God sees a receptive heart within me. Let me have this prayer:

Dear Father God

Thank you Lord for allowing me to enJOY your presence throughout the whole session in spite of the devastation brought by Typhoon Vinta upon our city and I believed that You will never forsake those who were affected. We might not be able to fathom everything that had happened in this world but I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason. It is my prayer Lord that You will give the victims hope and faith and more reasons to trust in You and in Your promises for them, for each one of us. We commit to You Oh, God the restoration of what were being damaged through your abundance and grace. These we asked in the mighty name of Jesus. AMEN

The Salient Scope of Gender Equality

This is just my personal point of view regarding the SOGIE bill which has been approved by the Congress and will be made into law upon the approval of  President Rody Duterte.

All human beings should have an equal right- that's a fact. Both men and women should have equal rights- none should be below or above to each other. This is one of the advocacies of Gender and Development Program- GENDER EQUALITY.

But if we look further and go deeper- this could mean that all individual can freely express themselves according to their preferences thus same-sex marriage would soon be legalized in our dear country.

SAME-SEX MARRIAGE. What could/would happen to us people if our moral standards are slowly deteriorating? What could/would happen to our next generation? It's a form of perversion to God's original purpose of our creation! How can same-sex marriage procreate?

I am not against to any of the LGBT group, but it's their act of perversion that I do not like. It's the spirit that tried to OVERPOWER THEM. God hates the act of perversion, in fact, He punished Sodom and Gomorrah.

Do we have to wait for another Sodom and Gomorrah? People are clamoring for gender equality- to what extent? Do we really have to tolerate such act for the sake of EQUALITY? I felt sorry for all my LGBT friends who were overcome by the "sin of the flesh". But God is gracious, they can still REPENT and change their lives for the better. Otherwise, they have to be accountable for their actions.

Christmas Rush- What's the Fuzz?

Christmas rush... heavy traffic, long queue, crowded places and gift-able merchandise everywhere, indeed, the feeling of Christmas rush is evident everywhere and can be felt by everyone. As for me, I have a lot of things on my mind, lots of plans for the coming celebration. But then, I was reminded to stay calm- to stay cool. I was reminded not to feel the pressure, and I was reminded to stay chill.

I used to worry a lot during this season. I worried about the gifts (obligatory feeling?), I was worried about the food. But as I grew a year older, I realized how to be contented and grateful with what I just can afford. I slowly withdraw myself from the "burden" of Christmas. What made me realize all that? Simple, it is the fact that this is NOT ABOUT US. Christmas is about Our Lord Jesus Christ who was born and more than three decades later, was hung on the cross to allow us to enjoy the beauty of CHRISTMAS as a redeemed children of God. This is ALL ABOUT HIM. That's why we should only do the things that could glorify Him! Yes, it is the season of giving, but we can give more than the material things. We can freely give our  FORGIVENESS to those who have offended us, we can give our LOVE for those whom we could consider as unlovable (as for me, some of my unruly students), we can give our TIME to our family whom we almost neglect because of the demands of our time for work. We can give ourselves for other people- our talents, skills, and concern. Christmas is a season of LOVE, a season of SHARING our happiness to everyone- how? that's where your talent, your skills and your time will be needed. No need to spend much. With just minimal expenses, the true spirit of Christmas can be experienced by each one of us.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Where Should You Buy Wooden Furniture?

You might be in a situation where you need to replace all of your current furniture because it is very old and falling apart. If this is the case, you will need to do some investigating in order to find a good place to buy some new furniture that will last for a very long time. There are many furniture retailers that you can choose from. However, you should never assume that these retailers are basically the same. You will discover that some are much better than others after you start shopping. Here are some of the most crucial things that you will need to keep in mind when you are in need of some new wooden furniture.

1. What sort of selection does the store have?

Furniture stores come in all sizes. This means that some will have inventories that are much bigger than others. You should never buy new furniture that you are not crazy about just because the store you are doing your shopping at has a very lackluster selection. You need to remain patient and not be in a hurry to buy your furniture. Keep looking until you find a furniture store with a huge inventory that will offer you the choices you want. You should never settle for anything less than the exact furniture you are looking for.

2. Do you know anybody who has recently bought some wooden furniture?

It would be in your best interests to take a survey of the people you know to determine if any of them has bought some wooden furniture in the past year or two. You might just get lucky. One or more of these people might be able to recommend a fabulous furniture retailer that you never knew existed before. Ask the people who have recently bought furniture where they bought it and how much they paid for it. Are they happy with the quality of it? These people might give you a line on where to pick up some quality ranch style furniture in Austin.

3. Can the store make custom furniture according to your specific needs?

You might see a wooden table that you really like. However, it is too big to fit in the room where you want to put it. Try to find a furniture store that is able to make custom size alterations for you.

A Tribute to My Boss

This is the first time that I would write something about my former Boss. He was my Boss for the past 10 years. Before I entered DepEd, I came to see him face to face during some of our BAC meetings and the best one was during the year-end assessment exactly 7 years ago at Dahilayan and Mountain Pines Bukidnon.

Many described him as a visionary man. A man of integrity and authority. A man who is firm with his decision. He is a father to some, a brother to many, and a husband to only one. Indeed, he is your kind of man- strict but real. Spiderman is famous with his "great power comes with great responsibility", so does my Boss. He is so pre-occupied in the academic management because that was part of his GREAT RESPONSIBILITY. His accomplishment was indeed very evident. The transformation of my beloved alma mater was materialized under his leadership. By the time he assumed the presidency- vertical and horizontal development were being implemented. God knows how the university was being transformed. It is not only the MUST, now USTP that he attended to- he has all the state colleges and universities under his care. That's how big the scope is that he has to mind every day. He has so many plans on his mind- HOWEVER, with his great responsibility- enemies were created. Those who were opposed to him, those who were jealous of him, those who were offended by him- as if they were creating such a great alliance that they plotted to KILL him. He had death threats before (as shared by his family)- yet he remained as calm as he is- no body guards- only a personal driver with limited fighting skills, I supposed. His enemies succeeded- this month started with a gloomy news of him being killed with multiple gunshots right in front of his residence. The academe world were all shocked after knowing his plight. That fateful dawn of the 2nd of December ended the dream of a visionary man. It was ended by some cold-blooded animal who were hired by some BIG FISH- one of his ENEMIES.

He does not deserve such kind of death- it is so difficult for everyone to accept what had happened to him yet it happened. I felt so sorry for his family- and most of all- his little children. If it is painful for those people who were under his commands- how much more for his wife and children as well as for his other immediate families. The people are now crying for JUSTICE- for his very untimely and undeserved kind of death. And for his killer- and its mastermind- they may be rejoicing right now. But their joy won't last forever- God will avenge my Boss and that's for sure. The mastermind should pray to his god that such thing will not happen also to him or to any of his immediate family, otherwise, he may experienced that excruciating pain that he caused to the family of my Boss.

Sir, I know you won't be able to read this. But thank you. Thank you for not signing my papers for plantilla items as Admin Aide IV because you knew that I won't be earning enough for my family. Have you signed it right away by the time it was handed to you- I may not be able to enjoy what I have enjoyed under DepEd right now. Thank you for your wisdom which I misunderstood 4 years ago. Lastly, thank you for your legacy- it will surely remain in everyone's heart forever. We will be proud to relate to our children that once upon a time, there was a University President who turns an ordinary thing into something- and that is my beloved alma mater.

Rooms For Function

Changing the appearance or the size of your home can be overwhelming at times. If you aren't sure where to begin, then consider talking to a contractor that specializes in remodeling and room additions before you take on any kind of work on your own. Determine what kind of room you need for the home, such as an extra bathroom or another bedroom if you plan to have more children or if you want another bedroom for guests. Talk to the contractor about the best location to put a room addition or the materials and time that it will take in completing a remodeling project so that you can plan ahead for the inconveniences that might be presented.

If you want to stick with something that is simple, then consider a bedroom or bathroom. The bedroom that you design can be used for any age, which is a benefit of this type of addition. Use neutral colors for the flooring and the walls to make it even easier to change the design of the room at any time. A bathroom is another simple addition that anyone in the home can benefit from using. When you add a bathroom to the home, you need to ensure that all of the plumbing is done correctly so that it flows with the rest of the house.

A family room is an addition that offers more space to enjoy time with everyone in the home as well as any outside family members or friends who visit. Picture windows and French doors allow for more natural light in the room and provide a modern touch instead of standard windows that might keep the room darker. Exposed beams on the ceiling can create the illusion that the room is larger than it is along with neutral colors on the walls and the floor. The room addition that you decide on should be one that you can budget for and that will be functional for the entire family. If you're remodeling a room in the home, maintain a basic appearance so that it can be changed in the future if needed.

Unknown Stress

While complying one task after the other, I was brought back to my memory lane. Those days that I am still young, carefree and happy. Oops am not saying that things have been changing differently these days. But when I tried to look back to my younger years, those years are indeed full of vigor, energy and enthusiasm! I may have known stress but not that much.

As of now, I am happy because I've got three adorable kids who completed my day. But then I have this unnecessary worries that keeps on bugging me and I know this is common to not-so-old mothers out there who faced some kind of premid-life crisis (sorry for the premid word, I just made it up). I am not afraid with all these responsibilities laid down before me- I am just not sure if I could really make it happen up to my last breath. I have so many apprehensions. I tried to be calm but sometimes, I just cannot avoid the fact that my kids are growing and so do I-only older.

I could only pray to God that He would continue to strengthen me and enlighten me always that I should learn to develop that unwavering faith in HIM.

Helping Your Child Overcome Milestone Obstacles

Children all grow and learn at different paces.  However, they are expected to reach developmental milestones by certain ages.

Engage Behavioral Health
When your child has yet to reach these important stages, your pediatrician may suggest that you have your child undergo special intervention services.  When you want to safeguard your child's physical, emotional, and behavioral health Tampa FL parents like you may enroll your son or daughter in programs designed to help your child reach milestones and overcome obstacles.

Learning through Play

Children do not respond well to typical therapy designed for adults.  Adults can sit for an hour or longer and talk about their feelings.  They can respond to auditory input without having to interact with dimensional stimuli like pictures or toys.  They may overcome their emotional, mental, and behavioral issues through individual or group counseling.

Kids are not like adults and instead need that sensory stimulation to learn and grow.  They cannot sit and talk to a therapist.  They need to engage in a more meaningful way with therapists and counselors who are there to help them learn.

When you visit the facility's website, you can find out how the programs are designed to teach children through play.  Your son or daughter will learn what he or she needs to know by playing with toys, listening to music, looking at pictures, being told stories, and with other age-appropriate methods.

The sessions will not be merely sitting in a chair while talking to a therapist.  Your child will play and learn at the same time.

Discovering the Healthcare Professionals on Staff

Your child may be the center of your world, which is why you want to entrust his or her care to people who are highly trained and have the experience needed to help your son or daughter.  You can put your own mind at ease by using the links on the website to learn more about the staff at the facility.

You can read up on the staff's professional qualifications and what educational training they have.  If you feel comfortable with them, you can use the links online to make an initial appointment.  You have total control over your child's treatments and therapy through the facility's online patient portals.

When your child has yet to reach milestones expected for his or her age, you may enroll him or her in therapeutic programs.  You can learn more and make the first appointment by going online today.

Professional Stress?

While multi-tasking, this phrase pop on my mind. But is there such thing as professional stress? I knew I just made it up but if I were to explain about the origin of that phrase- it boils down to one thing- STRESS-RELATED WORK, thus the word Professional.

I've been through a very hectic week. Recording outputs, computing grades, making card entries, and on top of that are the classes, meetings and other assigned tasks specifically given to me. Indeed, it was very stressful. I was even confused on what to do first. Good thing I was able to manage it, but of course with some compromises. I learned to decline politely to my School Head's request because I have to finish writing entries to my student's report card which was to be given to their parents on Friday! She asked me to attend to the schools' Monitoring data for online submission which was due on the same day also.

Personally, I do not complain on taking tasks that were assigned to me as long as I can do it and as long as it is not URGENT. I really don't like to do task that is time bounded along with other urgent tasks. It would be okay if that's the only thing that I have to attend to. The stress was indeed overwhelming! There are tasks that supposedly not on my concern but was delegated to me because I was the "only" one who can do it. Well, I am not really complaining but it was just so draining on my part.

Relieve Stress While Creating More Time

Today’s busy world leaves many people feeling overwhelmed and stressed. There are simply never enough hours in the day to accomplish all that needs to be done. Bedtime then becomes a moment of regret rather than a relaxing time of day to recoup for tomorrow. By changing the following three things, you can actually create more time for yourself and relieve a little of that stress.

Household Chores

There are some instances where splurging on hiring some help can be greatly rewarding. Having a house cleaning service come in once a week can be just enough of a help that you will find it well worth the cost. The same is true for hiring a gardener to take care of the lawn and flower beds. Snow storms can wreak havoc on a work day morning. Consider the snow removal Mars PA has to offer like that from Professional Landscape Service, Inc. to help save you time and frustration.

Meals

Meal time can be crazy when it should actually be a relaxing time of day. Planning ahead can take a lot of the stress out of the daily dinner. Think about making larger meals on your day off. This will allow you to have plenty of left overs for busy weeknights. Crockpot meals are another terrific solution. Place the ingredients for several dinners in a marked freezer bags. In the morning you can simply pick which meal to have, and pop it in the slow cooker.

Bedtime

Adults need a bedtime routine just as much as the children do. Turn off all electronics and TVs an hour before lying down. Unwind by taking a bath or reading part of a good book. Once you actually crawl into bed, turn off all bright lights. If the quiet feels like too much, use a fan or noise machine to lull you to sleep. Getting a regular amount of sleep each night will leave you feeling much more relaxed and ready to take on the new day.

Passing a few of the household chores on to others as well as planning for meals ahead of time will free up many hours throughout the week. Add a good night’s sleep to this new outlook on life, and you will feel the stress melting away.

Online Job

I was told long before that online jobs are not reliable. It won't last that long. But I didn't listen because I know there has to be away. When one goes down another opportunity will submerge. I was into blogging only, Period. I know nothing about other online opportunities. I tried having a fixed job with upwork but to no avail. I tried applying as Virtual Assistant but my time schedule won't allow me. So right now I only have blogging who relied much on opportunities from BravoMark and ValuedVoice in order to survive. However, the season is so dry that my month ends empty handed-no opportunities at all.

Sigh. Hoping November would be promising enough.

Days for Girls International Is Coming to our School

Macasandig National High School, The school where I belong, is privileged enough to be one of the recipient of the "Days for Girls" kit. I just learned about this organization's existence today. The said kit contain items for feminine hygiene and one of their advocacy is the giving of washable sanitary pads. Well, haven't tried this one before. But we are so glad that the Days for Girls International was able to come here in the Philippines, and in our city, and in our school! They will be coming on the 20th of October, that's Friday! For sure all of our female students would be excited for this. They will also be giving under wears! And what's more exciting of this event is that, it will be graced by no less that the Miss Earth beauties!

I'll keep you posted once the event will be done. I just hope I could document the whole event!

My thanks to the city government, DepEd Region X, DepEd CDO Division, MinPRA, Rotary Club of Burwood (the main sponsor, I guess) and the Miss Earth Organization!

Kudos!

A Teacher's Creed

Just in case, my fellow teachers, we forgot why do we became a teacher in the first place, let's have a review to the Teacher's Creed:

Image result for my teacher, my hero
I believe I have been called by God to teach.
I believe in children...young and old...black and white...rich and poor....each in need of learning.
I believe in blackboards, chalk dust, textbooks, and computers for each has a part in imparting knowledge.
I believe the love I give to my students will someday be reflected in their lives.
I believe the gift of teaching is not measured simply by marks, enrollment, or the end of the school year.
It is in the witness I give and the fullness of the life lived by those I teach.
I believe I have the power to lead those in need of learning to the threshold of their own minds.
I believe in my giftedness to use each of the tools available no matter how new or old..for the light of knowledge in the eyes of another is my goal.
I believe teaching is more than tests, diplomas, paperwork, and fundraising.
It is the values I breathe daily into another...slowly.
It is in the faith I share in Jesus...ever changing and growing...never ending.
I believe my success today goes unnoticed...until those I teach and touch can stand alone and say "in my life I have learned..."
I believe if I have taught and touched one person...in God's name...I have used my gift to me justly..and can humbly say...
I believe in teaching....
I AM A TEACHER!!

To All The Teachers In the World

Nobody is perfect. Even teachers with the noblest profession bound to commit mistakes. But regardless of that blatant fact, teacher plays a vital role in the development of every individual. Teachers molded us to become the person that we should be. They are our second parent. They taught us valuable lessons in life, they opened our eyes to the realities in the world, some teachers inspired us, others also discouraged us for some reasons. But nevertheless, a teacher will leave a footprints in our heart.

You will never knew what it takes to be a teacher until you become one. When I had this profession more than a decade ago, I was motivated to do my best because when I was still a student, I do have a bunch of very competent teachers who inspired me a lot. But mind you, being a teacher is not as easy as teaching the A-B-C. It requires lots and lots of patience. It is my personality who easily got discouraged, but this profession taught me how to extend my patience more than I could imagine. Every school semester/year, you'll be facing different students coming from all walks of life. I have experienced crying in desperation, walking out from my class, losing my temper but the following morning- you need to face the same group of students who caused you so much headache and frustrations. But the good part there is that, these group of students have their way of making it up to you. They can be the cause of your headache but sweet at the same time. Indeed, the life of a teacher is so colorful.

I do have great respect to all the teachers in the world. Especially those who really did their job accordingly. But my heart sank for those teachers who somehow have lost their profession because of some problems and complications of their own doing. I pity those teachers who were imprisoned for misconduct and other violations. Maybe they were just lost in track but I knew they have learned their lesson well, though they learned it the hard way.

SO, to all the teachers in the world, especially my former teachers from primary to tertiary level_ THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Thank God September Is Over

It's my birth month. Yes. But, for this year, the month of September is very toxic for me. I invest much of my time, effort and health on things that really consumed all  my energy, invaded my personal time, and made my whole month a total mess. In return, this month ends with a hard cough, severe head and body ache. What could I ask for more?

On the brighter side, this month, however, gave me the opportunity to renew my commitment at church. It's been awhile that I haven't gone to church regularly. And I was able to attend a small Bible Study group just in time before I will completely lost my sanity (exaggeration though). Indeed, God will never leave me nor forsake me because He will keep on using other people to reach me out when I almost forget who I am for Him in the first place. (I'm God's precious daughter)

I could only hope that this month of October will be a whole lot kinder to me (Oh please!)

The Truth About Justice in America

It is hardly a secret that in this country there are thousands of people who do not have access to the justice system. One of the most egregious displays of sentencing laws is that of mandatory minimums. For those of you who think that mandatory minimum sentencing laws make a positive change in regards to crimes, here are some interesting statistical facts which prove otherwise.

1. One reason that America has the largest prison populations in the world is due to Congress creating mandatory sentencing minimums for drug crimes back in the 1980s. These laws have ballooned the prison population from an estimated 24,000 prisoners to over 214,000 prisoners.

2. For every 31 adults in America, one is either in prison, on probation, or on parole.

3. If a prisoner is in the Federal prison system, they have no chance of parole. They are required by law to serve a minimum of 85% of their sentences.

4. 95% of all persons convicted of a drug crime, including first-time non-violent offenders, received a prison sentence.

5. 77% of Americans, including those who support groups such as www.gji.org, support the elimination of mandatory minimum sentencing laws used on first-time offenders who have committed non-violent crimes.

6. In an odd reverse display of funding, the United States government has cut funding for state and local law enforcement agencies by nearly half. At the same time, they have increased the funding for Federal prisons by almost 50%. It is things like this which show where the priorities lie.

7. The cost of a single inmate to taxpayers equals almost $84 per day. This is over $30,000 per year.

8. On an annual basis, United States taxpayers shell out $50 billion in the name of state prisons.

9. When it comes to offenders who are considered low-risk, those who spend the least amount of time in prison actually have a 4% less chance of committing a crime than do those who spend more time in prison.

Hopefully, these facts can help to change the mind of those who consider mandatory minimum sentencing laws as a way to positively affect crime and those who commit it.

How Important Is Making improvements and Additions Outside the Home

Home improvements and renovations are becoming increasingly popular activities as more and more homeowners are electing to stay right where they're at, making the most of what they've got. As the housing market still struggles in many areas to make a full post-recession recovery, many people remain wary of getting into the housing market right now. Improvements and additions to their current residence can make living conditions much more comfortable, and if done in the right manner, can be a fiscally wise move. Making some changes can ultimately result in adding considerably to the home's resale value, so investments now can possibly pay off handsomely in the future.

As important as improving living conditions inside the home are, homeowners find that making improvements and additions outside the home are important as well, and for a number of very valid reasons.

The addition of metal barns, metal garages, metal sheds, metal carports and RV covers provide homeowners with several options in how to utilize their new structures, all the while making a new and very aesthetically pleasing addition to their property, subsequently adding to the home's overall value.

Structures made of metal are more durable than those made with wood. Able to withstand all types of weather conditions very well, they are very low maintenance and don't have the problems wood structures face with rotting, termite infestation, and are a considerably lower fire risk.

Homeowners that may be considering adding a new metal structure to their property would be wise to look into leading companies in the industry, ones like New Deal Metal Buildings, that specialize in the sales of durable, prefabricated metal buildings and structures.

The company that can best serve customers will feature an extensive array of building sizes and design options to choose from in each structure. If customers should have any special needs, that company should provide the capability and willingness to work with the customer on coming up with a custom-built structure that will suit all the customer's needs.

New metal outbuildings and carports, coming in a variety of attractive colors, can provide tremendous areas for additional storage. Storage within durable new metal structures will enable vehicles, equipment, and other items to be safe from harsh weather conditions that occur everywhere. From the beating down heat and intensity of the sun that can fade paint and interiors, to harsh rain, sleet, hail, storms, and snowfall, everything can be protected in a durable metal building.

This could be the most appropriate song to play right now.

Steps to Take After an Electrical Fire

An electrical fire can break out because of an overloaded circuit breaker or because of faulty wiring. Though you may notice some symptoms of an electrical fire like sparks coming from an outlet or a burning odor when you plug in certain things, these fires can happen with little to no warning. Once you get your family out of the house and to a safe place and call 911 to have the fire put out, you can take some other steps to make your home safer for your family.

Contact Your Insurer

Make your very first call one to your insurer or the company responsible for your home insurance policy. This company will request a copy of the fire report to make sure that the fire was electrical in nature and not caused by you or someone in your home. If you had a smaller fire and put it out on your own, the insurer will likely send an adjuster to your home. The adjuster will determine the cause of the fire and make a report that shows the work needed as well as how much the company will pay out on those repairs.

Block Off Access

Depending on the severity of the fire, you may want to block off access or limit access to the room. Younger children are fascinated with changes and may want to poke things in the socket or try to plug things into other outlets in the room. It's best to completely block access to the room until you finish making any necessary repairs. If this is not possible, you can use tarps with heavy weights to bricks to block off the damaged areas of the room.

Call an Electrician

Ask your insurer for a Ponte Vedra electrician to find someone you can trust to repair your home. The electrician will need to get inside the walls to find the cause of the fire. He or she may need to strip out the old wiring before installing any new wiring and then upgrade your circuit breaker to ensure that it can handle all the appliances and devices that your home runs. Electricians can also inspect other areas of your home to find any other problems that might lead to a future fire. Though an electrical fire might scare you, you can take steps to keep those fires from breaking out.

Patience, Where Art Thou?

There are some point in our lives where we lost our patience and we got things out of hand. This is so normal. Especially if you are in a situation wherein you tried to understand everything. You tried to be sensible. However, patience became an issue. Patience could just slipped away if you got the feeling of being fed up, being sick and tired because you just cannot handle the situation anymore.
Can you blame yourself? Once you started to blame yourself, regrets would follow. Yes, there is so much regrets for the bad decisions in the past and that bad decisions was once the best decisions you thought  you ever had.
You could only wish that changing mind could be as easy as changing your clothes. But there are just some factors that despite of your deepest regrets, you cannot just simply let go because some important people in your lives will be affected. You might have lost your patience but you need to go on. You need to forget how you feel. You need to be blind because you have no other choice. It may be against your will but you have to sacrifice. Patience was gone but you just don't have the guts yet to follow your mind. No, not yet. Maybe some other time.

Start Cultivating A Life Of Wellness With These Strategies

If you've recently made the mind/body connection or simply grown tired of feeling lackluster, you may have given thought to implementing health strategies that will help you think clearly, boost immunity, sleep better, maintain mood stability, or accomplish some other great wellness outcome. If you're really serious about attaining some or all of these results, this is the article for you. Read on to learn more about how you can start cultivating a life of wellness:

1. Think About Health As A Holistic Enterprise.

One mistake many people make when they begin their journey into greater health is failing to think of wellness as a holistic enterprise. Don't commit this error. Instead, recognize that the mental, physical, and spiritual elements of your personhood are always intertwined in a manner that enables them to impact one another profoundly. When you think about your body as one composite unit comprised of multiple parts that all require attention and care for the whole system to function correctly, you begin to understand the concept of holistic health.

Another concept to keep in mind as you begin to pursue holistic health is that all of our body parts are connected. As such, each individual part can contribute to or detract from overall health. For example, if you neglect your teeth by practicing poor oral hygiene, you can make yourself vulnerable to not only gum disease, but heart disease, osteoporosis, and gum disease. With this idea in mind, make sure that you and your children are taking good care of the teeth at all times. If you're in search of a great pediatric dentist Quincy residents can rely on to offer effective care, know that the professionals of Premier Dental of Quincy can assist you.

2. Learn More About Physical Fitness.

In addition to thinking about your health in holistic terms, make sure that you begin learning more about physical fitness. Getting serious about the field of exercise is important because it will empower you to learn about ways that you can move your body for the purpose of attaining great outcomes like enhanced cardiovascular function, boosted metabolism, and improved posture. One book you may want to refer to as you start gaining more knowledge about fitness is Baron Baptiste's Journey Into Power. This book offers incredibly helpful information regarding how you can use the practice of yoga to attain great outcomes like stronger, leaner muscles, laserlike focus, and inner calm.
